Would you describe yourself as a technophobe or technophile?
The world is changing rapidly and you have to be on top of new technology. We are providing a service to people who are feeling more and more comfortable transacting online. I have great tech support and if there is anything I don’t understand, I google it.
Who, or what, is your biggest inspiration?
People who are not afraid to take risks, are passionate and follow their dreams.
What’s your proudest moment?
Launching Legal123.com.au 10 years ago and the wonderful reception and interest it continues to receive.
What’s your number one stress relief tactic (keep it clean!)?
Running – it’s great thinking time and even better for stress relief.
What or who has the most grounding influence on you?
My husband. He puts up with crazy work hours and my need to have my ‘great’ ideas discussed in the middle of the night when they come to me. He’s also a rock of tech support and still smiles through it all!
What’s the cheapest, most effective bit of marketing you’ve ever done?
Word of mouth and testimonials received.
What’s the biggest challenge you face at work?
Time management – so many things to do and so little time in a day. It’s a required discipline to work out the most important things to focus on and just doing it without being pulled in or distracted by other work.
What is the one regret you do not want to have in this lifetime?
Having regrets, not taking opportunities when they are presented, wishing I had tried and wondering what if I had…
What inspires you most about your work?
Being able to see small business clients growing into successful enterprises and feeling I was a part of it!
What do you love most about running your own business?
The idea that we are part of an important shift in the way legal services are provided to everyday Australians from intimidating expensive traditional lawyers to easy-to-use and understand, inexpensive online templates. Also we love helping startups – there are some amazing business ideas out there, ready to show the world!

I started Legal123.com.au 10 years ago after discussions with friends and colleagues who didn’t have the time or the money to visit lawyers. They also felt intimidated by the legal process so they were choosing instead to not bother writing a will, seeking money owed to them, and were being told to copy other website terms and conditions, privacy policies, and other legals.
Startup businesses didn’t know where to go for help in all aspects and we are unique in that we offer assistance in all aspect of starting your business from helping you set up a company or business through to helping you set up your website. We also offer product, manufacturing or liability advice, investment advice – you name it, we have done it!
I realised there was a huge gap in the market and need for something that offered easy-to-use, inexpensive legal templates that people could actually understand. Ours are written in plain English with pdf instructions, videos, FAQs and walk-throughs. We don’t just give you the template, we tell you what to do with it afterwards!
