If you’ve read through the article guidelines here in detail, and you’ve written a piece you’d like to submit to us, here’s the process for doing so:
1. Ensure the article is formatted correctly
It may seem ‘nitpicky’ but it’s very important that articles are submitted to us in our specific article formatting. It frees our editor up to spend her time making your article sparkle as opposed to getting everything in the right format.
Each article needs to be submitted with the following information filled in, in the order specified below. Please download our article template here and then read through the below carefully to ensure you are filling each section in correctly.
<Category>
This is the category your article will appear in on our site. You can easily view all our categories via our site menu. Pick the category that you think best fits (it’s not crucial to get it ‘right’ – if we think there is one that it fits better, we will amend).
<Header>
This is the article headline. This must make a promise to the reader that draws them to read the article (and then the article should deliver on that headline). In the perfect world the headline will be no more than 45 characters in length.
<Author>
Your name
<Pull quote>
This is usually the ‘best line’ in the article, or a highly quotable line.
<Teaser>
This bit sits on our home page underneath the headline and acts as extra enticement to get people to read the article. The optimum length of a teaser is about 160 characters with spaces, or around 25 to 30 words. NB: Please do not repeat your teaser in your article. The teaser should give some idea of what the article is about, and lead naturally into the main body of the article below.

2. Submit your article
IMPORTANT! Before submitting your article please check:
- It has been formatted using the article template.
- You are an Australian small business.
- Your submitted article is the kind of article we have stated we are looking for.
- You are the person who wrote the article. (We do not accept articles written by PR companies on behalf of clients, nor from SEO companies doing the same.)
If your article doesn’t meet all of the above criteria, it cannot be considered and will not receive a response.
Once you’ve written your article and checked that it meets the article guidelines and submission guidelines, you can send it to our Editor. She will respond to you within a week to let you know whether it has been accepted for publication on our site.
If you are a new contributor to our site, you will be sent our contributor agreement and invited to submit your details to us so we can create a contributor profile for you.
