NSW Small Business Month: Connect for success at events across the state

NSW Small Business Month launches today, and the government is inviting small business owners to come together and connect at 100s of events held across the state.

Minister for Customer Service and Small Business Victor Dominello said small business owners would be able to learn new skills and hone their strategies for success by taking part in any of the myriad of events on offer across NSW.

“Small Business Month is about bringing together small businesses across the state to learn, collaborate and celebrate the experience and expertise of our 800,000 small businesses in NSW,” Dominello said.

“I encourage all small businesses or those interested in starting a business to get involved and attend one of the many events held this month.”

Connect for small business success

The theme for this year’s NSW Small Business Month is Connect for Success, and NSW Small Business Commissioner Chris Lamont said the festival of all things business provided business owners with the perfect opportunity to engage with experts and industry leaders.

“There are more than 340 hosted events over the month designed with small businesses in mind. From online marketing tips, support for mental fitness, help for young entrepreneurs to information on pricing strategies, there are literally hundreds of options, and I invite all NSW small businesses to check out the exciting festival of events,” Lamont said.

Many of the events and workshops on offer will be free to attend thanks to funding from local council and the state government.

NSW small business owners employ over 1.8 million people and add more than $400 billion to the economy annually.

• Connect with More Customers – How to Design your Marketing Pipeline for Consistent Success: a face-to-face workshop on 3 November in Kareela hosted by Sutherland Shire Business Chamber.
• Create your Employee Value Proposition (EVP): an online webinar on 4 November hosted by Total HRM.
• Connect for Success: a face to face networking event on 4 November in Burwood hosted by Burwood Council.
• PayID for Small Business: an online on-demand webinar available throughout November hosted by NPP Australia.
