Benefits of Quiz-Based Marketing

Increased Engagement

As mentioned above quizzes are just simply interactive and with this leads to higher engagement levels than static content. Prompting users to actively participate in quizzes maintains interest and encourages your target users to spend more time on your website/platform.

Valuable Insights

Responses from quizzes are a goldmine of information where businesses can seriously understand the actual preferences, consumer behaviour and needs of their targeted market, serving as a guide on what strategies to craft in order to achieve a more customised campaign that is effective.

Enhanced personalisation

Customising the entire quiz experienceโ€“from start to finishโ€“makes users feel more engaged and understood, which strengthens their connection to the brand.

This personalised approach not only keeps participants interested but also makes them more likely to trust the value being offered, leading to higher conversion rates.

Viral potential

I’ve seen it before and I’m most certain that I will see it time and time again, but people love sharing quizzes! As long as the results are fun as well as highly intriguing insights about themselves, especially when those insights feel personal or revealing.

Whether itโ€™s uncovering a hidden unique trait, discovering a cool new style type, or getting a fun and playful result that’s entertaining to others, quizzes like these will get some traction.

When a quiz captures this level of interest, you might see that your participants will be sharing either their results or the quiz itself on their social media profiles and/or accounts which in turn expands your reach to others who may be interested in the same niche or your brand.

This social sharing not only increases visibility but also attracts potential leads, as others are drawn in by the entertaining nature of the quiz and its promise of fun, personalised results.

Lead generation

Now that we know quiz based marketing can drive organic reach, we can also expect it to gather leads. How? Well in order for a participant to take the quiz, he or she may leave their email address or other contact info which businesses can use to build a list of engaged prospects who are interested in the business’ offerings.

Cost-effectiveness

Compared to other lead generation methods, quizzes can be a cost effective solution, since they only require relatively low financial investment and in the end produce significant returns.

Designing Effective Quizzes

Identify what quiz your target audience wants

Start off by identifying your targeted audience and what type of quiz that would resonate with and this could range from personality quizzes to knowledge tests, totally depending on what aligns best with your brand and audience interests.

Craft your questions

Now the exciting but tricky part! First off you can’t just come up with random questions, trust me, I’ve done this and it didn’t go well. You gotta think of questions that you know your participants will find engaging and relevant. They also have to guide them toward your offer in a way that’s effective but indirect.

Add interactive elements

Part of what makes a quiz engaging are interactive elements as they boosts lead capture since they make the experience more engaging and personalised. Features like popup questions, icons that are moving, real-time responses, etc., keep participants interested to move forward.ย

Incorporate your lead capture and lead magnet

Some choose to have their lead capture form included in the beginning and although it may be working well for others there’s the possibility of your targeted audience to not even fill out the form as they lose interest in having to add in a bunch of details before they can enjoy the quiz.

To avoid this, I often tell my clients to add the lead form towards the end of the quiz, where in return, the participants unlock the incentive such as a discount, free resource, or exclusive content access. I also tell my clients that their lead forms should ask for relevant info that will help in future campaigns.

Make your quiz shareable

And by shareable, I mean it’s not complicated for them to share their results on their social media accounts. As mentioned previously, allowing others to share your quiz allows you to reach your targeted market organically and influence them to take the quiz so that you can build a list of individuals that you can market to.

With everything that we’ve gone through above, quiz based marketing, if properly done can be something to leverage that brings great results from being able to collect quality leads and make engagement all the more higher.
