When did you know you wanted to start your own business?

When I hit 50, mid life, menopause, empty nester.

What’s the biggest thing you’ve learnt this year?

That I can’t do it all alone, especially social media, online marketing etc – so I hired a VA team.

What’s the smartest bit of marketing you’ve ever done?

Starting a meetup group, I got over 60 ladies sign up in the first week.

What’s the one resource you’d never be without?

My NLP techniques.

What’s the biggest challenge you face at work?

Technology, especially online marketing.

What’s the best thing about being a soloist? And the worst thing?

Best thing: is being the decision maker. Worst thing: is isolation.

What’s the best piece of business advice you’ve ever been given?

Consistent daily action no matter how small.

Where and when do you have your best ideas?

Riding my bicycle through the park.

What would be your advice to aspiring soloists?

Surround yourself with people who support your dream.

What’s one thing about you few people know?

I worked with lepers in India.

What inspires you most about your work?

Seeing women who have lost faith in themselves thrive.

What do you wear to work?

I work from home and am strict about my shoes! High heels when in my office. Slippers when in the bedroom. Runners when out walking the dog. For a professional mindset I need professional shoes.

What do you love most about running your own business?

Witnessing my own personal development.
