Our book: Tips to apply in 5 minutes

When we wrote our guide to going it alone, we intended it to have a healthy shelf life. But we didnโ€™t expect to read a fresh, new summary a dozen years on! One has just been published and itโ€™s a nice little read.

I met Fern Chang at a small business event recently and she was so engaged and active in my presentation, that I presented her with a book as a gift.

Serendipitously, a few weeks later, she popped up in my inbox announcing that as a hobby she wrote book summaries for Actionable Books and sheโ€™d written one for Flying Solo: How to go it alone in business.

Fernโ€™s summary consists of a brief overview of the book along with some key insights that can be readily applied to your business.

She opens with a quote from page 13:

“The happiest soloists succeed because they have the knack for putting work in its proper place alongside the rest of their lives.”

And moves on to summarise the traits of a successful soloist, the importance of word-of-mouth referrals, and how and why to create an operations manual for your business.

You can read the full summary on Actionable Books and while there follow a link to buy your own digital copy.ย Alternatively, use your Flying Solo membershipย to score a copy for FREE.
